About Sita's House
Sita's House walks with adults who have survived trafficking or abuse, and with young people 14 to 24 facing the same dangers. First a safe home, then hands-on training in the building trades, then a house of their own.
The path
- RestoreA safe place to stay, and people who stay too.
- BuildLearn a trade from people who do it for a living.
- OwnA home with your name on it.
How we keep people safe
- We never publish where the house is. It keeps the people living there safe.
- Everyone who works alongside young people completes a background check and safety training first.
- We don't take requests for help online yet. We'd rather tell you that than leave you waiting on a form.
Where we are today
Sita's House is an Illinois nonprofit getting ready to welcome its first residents. We are completing our nonprofit filings, and we'll post our tax status here before we accept a single gift.
Who is behind it
Our founder, board and team will be listed here.
Why it's called Sita's House
A letter from our founder is coming soon. It will tell who Sita is, why this house exists, and why the path runs through the building trades to owning a home.
